Of course, it will not happen. However, Burnham's plan would need that level of tax to work.

You made me realise that the desire to shock got the better of me. The text has been replaced with: "Inheritance tax only raised £8.5 billion in total last year so an inheritance tax rate of 80% would be needed to pay for care for the elderly. The super rich get their money out of the country so the burden of a swingeing inheritance tax rate would fall on the middle class. "

He's the last hope. And he's only that because he's been away from Westminster for years, so his ideas have had less chance to bugger our economy and culture.
